COVID-19

CLINIC POLICIES

MASKING REQUIREMENTS HAVE CHANGED

As of May 10th medical masks are no longer mandatory for asymptomatic patients or employees. We are a “Mask Friendly” clinic and medical masks will continue to be available for patients and visitors at the reception desk.

Patients and employees must wear a mask if they are experiencing any of the following symptoms:

• Fever
• Chills / Sweats
• Cough
• Sore Throat / Hoarse Voice
• Shortness of Breath / Breathing Difficulties
• Loss of Taste or Smell
• Vomiting or Diarrhea for more than one day
• Runny Nose
• Muscle Aches
• Unusual Fatigue
• Conjunctivitis (Pink Eye)
• Headache
• Skin Rash of unknown cause
• Nausea or Loss of Appetite

Please remember that some of the best ways to keep yourself safe are many of the same recommended guidelines. These include testing yourself if symptoms occur, staying up to date on vaccinations, and washing / sanitizing your hands regularly.

Do not come into the clinic if you have tested positive for COVID-19. Instead call the clinic for further direction or seek medical attention elsewhere. There are time-sensitive medications available by prescription to prevent poor outcomes, including long COVID, hospitalization, and death.

WHEN CAN I COME INTO THE CLINIC FOR MY APPOINTMENT AFTER COVID-19?

If you have an upcoming in-person appointment and you have tested positive for Covid-19 or you have had Covid-19 symptoms you may need to reschedule your appointment.

If it has been 5 days or more since the onset of your symptoms AND you have not had a fever the past 24 hrs AND your symptoms are improving: you may come for your appointment. If you do not meet the above criteria please call the clinic to reschedule your appointment.

COVID-19 TESTING AT SOUTHBRIDGE MEDICAL CLINIC

Testing sites have now closed and the approach to Covid-19 testing has been updated. Clinics are now testing for the following two reasons:

  • A preoperative PCR test 10 days prior to surgery with your family physician
               OR
  • testing to determine if you are eligible for Covid-19 treatment
